PROGRAM PARTNERS

YouthVille Detroit collaborates with many community partners in providing program services to youth and their families.  Some organizations are directly contracted to work with YouthVille staff in providing program resources to youth members.  These are commonly referred to as Program Partners.  Typically, these program partners do not independently maintain leased administrative or program space within the facility.

College of Creative Studies
CCS is recognized as a world leader in art and design education, preparing students to enter the new, global economy. Through its Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) program, CCS has partnered with YouthVille Detroit youth offering art and design education through its Young Artist classes.

DivaGrove Fashion House
Diva Grove is a full service fashion and design art program that trains young women and men in all aspects of the fashion and modeling industry.

Elite Archery, Inc.
Promotes and teaches the Olympic sport of archery to youth and introduces them to competitive tournament play while building upon leadership skills.

F.A.I.T.H.F.U.L, Inc.
Provides basic/advanced basketball skills and health and fitness to young men and women while developing individual and team skills.  Though the activity may be basketball, Coach is really teaching the kids various life skills.

Mathematics & Science Association of Detroit (MSAD)
Offers tutoring, homework assistance, ACT/SAT preparation, career exploration and college planning to youth participants.

Michigan State University (MSU)
A community partner that focuses on the research of youth, community, and economic development with attention to projects and programs that benefit children and youth in Detroit and support their educational efforts and aspirations.

Mosaic Youth Theatre
Mosaic specializes in artistic studies for young actors, singers, and stage technicians. Through its First Stage Program offered at YouthVille, Mosaic is developing talented young artists and new diverse audiences for the performing arts.

New Earth Tribe, LLC
A local poet, Saleem Ameer Hakim, facilitates the YouthVille Spoken Word Poetry Collective, an in-house collective of aspiring poets, storytellers, song writers who perform and publish their works.

Pewabic Pottery
Pewabic Pottery is nationally renowned for its tile and pottery in unique glazes. Through its Education Department, Pewabic partners with YouthVille to provide ceramic art instruction in YouthVille’s own ceramic studio.

Think Detroit PAL
ThinkDetroit PAL builds character in young people through athletic, academic and leadership development programs. The organization provides instruction at YouthVille for young people to learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball through skill development drills and tournament play.

University of Michigan (U of M)
U of M professors provide evaluation services to YouthVille to measure the outcome successes of its many programs

Wayne State University (WSU)
Students referred through WSU Honors Program and the School of Social Work internships provide homework assistance and mentorship to youth.

viveeDesign Studios
Provides technology instruction in game design theory and strategies, anime manga, web site design and digital photography.

Peace Project
Youth promoting peace through community service projects, political action and media projects.
